Lucia Bardy is a Slovak designer and visual artist based in Prague. She explores the boundaries between privacy and sharing through limited-edition and one-of-a-kind objects, combining durable materials and traditional craftsmanship with modern techniques. Her work includes freestanding pieces, screens, room dividers, and spatial projects, drawing inspiration from nature, modernism, art, travel, and her Carpathian-German heritage.
As part of her studies at the Academy of Fine Arts and Design in Bratislava (VŠVU), Bardy studied design at HDK-Valand, University of Gothenburg, Sweden. She graduated from AFAD (VŠVU) with the Rector’s Award for Best Diploma Thesis in Applied Arts, later completing the Models in Architecture course at TU Delft and undertaking an internship in The Hague.
Bardy has been developing her independent practice since 2006, initially under the name Kocmanová. After years of gaining valuable experience across a range of design disciplines, she has returned to artistic design—the field she focused on during her studies.
